It's that time of year again.
A week is a long time when I come to think of it; what you to choose to do with it is your choice. If you want to relax by the beach, thats fine, or go on a cruise, thats fine too, but since I'm now a senior, a week can make a big difference to my future. This past week I didn't spend it at the beach nor on a cruise as I have in my past high school years. This year I college toured.
The long application process is quite the drag with all the essays, fill outs and the gathering of transcripts, resumes and recommendations. But pulling away from that for a week was quite the stress reliever.
Texas schools are on the top of my college list, so I thought to myself why not pay them a visit?
University of Texas Baylor Tex as Christian University
These three schools, alongside SMU (Southern Methodist University), have caught my eye for the longest time--ever since my brother started applying to colleges four years ago--but I never really knew what they were like until I saw them on tour. Each place I went caught my eye in a variety of ways making it hard for me to choose my favourite one. I could talk nonstop about each college I visited, and the reasons as to why I loved it or the things I wish were different about them, but instead im going to work on being concise. To do so, Ill write three words that best describe my experience at each university.
HOOK EM' HORNS University of Texas - UT

SIC'EM Baylor - BU
FAITHFUL

Even though the experience while visiting each university was different, they all had certain commonalities that tied them together making my decision to choose my favourite one quite tuff. If I could recommend one thing to future applying students in their senior year, it would be to VISIT your top 3 universities on your college list, you may end up changing your mind!
Having visited four of my top universities has now shifted my thoughts on applications, and the only thing that stands in my way form the future, are completing them.
I better get back to it!
