R&T arquitectura de eventos
Since it is the first semester of the Innovation Academy, we are working around the idea of trying things out, seeing if they are worth doing again in the future; taking the time to do these internships has definitely been something worth our time. Even though we (the IA students) have taken internships in different places and in different fields of work we have all learned so much from being involved, rather than just researching about it on the web.
I took an internship with Liliana Tapia in the field of event planning. I could have learned about event planning through researching in books or on the web, but instead I was able to learn so much more than just event planning through doing the internship. I experienced what it was like to be i n v o l v e d in this business and I saw the p r o g r e s s of the work being done "behind the scenes" of an event. Taking innovation class time to do these internships was a different experience for each of us students, but I can definitely say that we all would be glad to do another internship at some point in our learning years.
At the end of this semester (the first semester of my junior year) we had to present what we had learned while being in our internships, not just what we learned like how organize an event or how I know where to place the decorations and furniture, but instead it was more about what I had actually taken from the experience of working in that field for 12 days.
Here are my slides from the presentation I gave about what I learned at my internship at R&T arquitectura de eventos.
