T I M E
86400 seconds, 1440 minutes, 24 hours, one day.
Time is a valuable thing. It's something we should be considerate of; we have so much time in our hands that if it's used purposefully, incredible things can happen.
This July vacation, we had 3,196,800 seconds to form a habit we wanted to have in the future. How much can you get done in one day? There's definitely enough time in month for creating a habit, and I believe I've done it! Of course there have been flaws in the time that I've been working on my habit where I didnt meet my deadlines, but I'm glad to say there were far more successes than failures. If you havent read or heard of what my habit was, it was to be on time. Mainly it was pointed towards arrivals--I was never on time to anything, and wasn't really true to my word when it came to what time I would arrive--This habit pushed me forward to realizing how important it is to arrive on time: it means commitment.
This vacation, wasn't a typical vacation for me. Normally, we travel, but this year we stayed in Dallas, Texas the whole month, which gave me a great opportunity to really make myself accountable for being late. Overall the experience was a challenge, but I must admit it wasn't so hard. All I had to do was predict the time it would take me to arrive, and based on that I would get ready.

Mostly, I managed to arrive on time to anywhere I said I would be. But, a few slipped my hand: going to the movies one night, arriving at a college essay meeting and going to lunch. Out of all the lunches, movies and things I did, which may not seem much of a variety, I got the hang of managing my time. That has always been one of my strongest weaknesses, managing my time.
After the month of having the time to see how I was doing with my time management I am more than proud of my arrivals. I went from being the type of girl who says she's 10 minutes away when really I was just leaving the house, into being the type of girl that arrives first and doesn't make anyone wait on her. I realized how unfair and unresposible it is to arrive late. I want to slove my stuggle in more depth, but I am so glad that I accomplished being able to arrive on time to anywhere I go, and I will continue this habit. Just because the IA challenge is over doesn't mean my habit has to quit. I want to continue it and expand it, I want to be more time efficient and use my time wisely, as it should be used. I learned to deal with being late, and now that has opened my eyes to other things I may be late at, such as deadlines.
So, I would love to take that challenge on, take my awareness of the importance of time and apply that into organizing myself so I can meet every deadline I have, whether it's in a social or school matter.
