The best part of the day is the moment when you can look back and know that you did something that made you happy.
Presentation is just the final outcome of a giant process, a process that takes time and teamwork to have a successful outcome. That is what we did. We took the time we had, made the best of it and worked together to create a great first prototype for BlendZ.
The line got longer and longer and the minutes ticked on by, and as less and less fruit was in the
coolers the faster time seemed to fly by; I knew smoothies were going to be a success as we had seen the results of surveys conducted by Domenico, and as people kept on asking me when we were going to sell smoothies. They had heard so much about BlendZ through conversations and through the past mini trials we've had, they all waited for the day they could finally get hands on a smoothie at school. Prototyping our product was probably one of the most fun things I've done in a while; who knew smoothies could be so fun to make! Karen and I both were smoothie-makers and DD was the cashier. Even though the smoothies were a huge success as we flew through 86 cups of smoothies in just 40 minutes, there are of course things we have learned and need to improve from this prototype. |
Personally, I believe these things must be kept in mind for our next trial:
Have a better cup system so that they wont fly away or get unorganized or tip over.
Keep a steady pace while working, don't try and rush, but don't keep the customers waiting too long.
Work on keeping the table clean at all times.
Make sure gloves are changed once they get messy.
Working making smoothies was an excitement, but I barely had any connection to any of the customers, all I felt that I did was make the smoothies, pour them into the cup, put a lid on it and call out the name. For the future, I believe making the smoothies would be a good chance to have even more customer service through making it personal, having conversations and making them feel comfortable as they are waiting for their smoothies.
Succeeding in this prototype was H U G E success for BlendZ, it has more demand now than ever before and I'm so glad we are going to continue it and allow it to expand and create and awesome business that I'm sure will stay at FDR for a long time!
